Rosa Parks proclaimed to be " The First Lady of the Civil Right" and " The Mother of the Freedom Movement", was an African American Civil Rights Activist famously known as the woman who propelled the Montgomery Bus Boycott. When Rosa Parks courageously refused to give her seat up on a bus to a white woman on December 5th 1955, the campaign against racial segregation on public transport began. In 1956 a new ruling was passed in Montgomery deeming segregation on buses to be unlawful.
